  10. Hardware Requirements:
  11. ----------------------
  12. - 486-100MHz PC compatible is required. Pentium-100 (or above) 
  13.   PC compatible is recommended;
  14. - Microsoft Windows 3.1 and above, or Windows 95;
  15. - a hard disk drive with at least 2MB of free space;
  16. - a 2x speed or above CD-ROM drive;
  17. - a sound card with a Windows wave audio driver is optional.
  18. - a 256 (or above) color VGA card is required. A VGA card with DCI 
  19.   or DirectDraw support is recommended;
  20. - 8MB system memory is required.

  22. Installing the LinkMPEG Player on Windows 3.1:
  23. ----------------------------------------------
  24. 1 Start Windows 3.1.
  25. 2 Insert the LinkMPEG Player setup disk into drive A.
  26. 3 Open the Windows program manager and choose the "Run" command.
  27. 4 In the "Run" dialog, type "A:\setup" and click the "ok" button.
  28. 5 The LinkMPEG Player setup program will start.
  29. 6 Follow the setup program's on-screen instructions.

  31. Installing the LinkMPEG Player on Windows 95:
  32. ----------------------------------------------
  33. 1 Start Windows 95.
  34. 2 Insert the LinkMPEG Player setup disk into drive A.
  35. 3 Choose "Run" from the "Start" menu.
  36. 4 In the "Run" dialog, type "A:\setup" and click the "ok" button.
  37. 5 The LinkMPEG Player setup program will start.
  38. 6 Follow the setup program's on-screen instructions.

  41. 1 This version does not support playback of CD-I under Windows 95.

  44. RELEASE NOTES TO LinkMPEG Player

  46. 1 The video display capability supported by LinkMPEG Player 
  47.   includes DCI, Win-G and GDI for Windows 3.1. For Windows 95,
  48.   Direct-Draw and GDI are supported.
  49. 2 The audio playback sampling frequencies supported by LinkMPEG 
  50.   Player include 44.1KHz, 22KHz and 11KHz. 48KHz and 32KHz audio
  51.   formats are also supported. Both stereo and mono-channel 
  52.   playback are supported. 
  53. 3 Data formats supported include VCD1.0, VCD1.1, VCD2.0, CD-I and 
  54.   MPEG (.mpg) files.
  55. 4 Full-screen, full-motion video playback is supported.
  56. 5 MCI driver is supported. The MCI commands supported are listed
